The driver sits in the left, gunner in the middle and commander in the right inside a special armoured capsule. The hull is divided into three compartments, a crew cab at forward, an unmanned remote controlled turret in the centre and a power-pack at the rear. This may be due to the high unit costs of purchasing such an advanced vehicle, as well as - perhaps - to operational problems with the first units delivered to the armed forces of the Russian Federation.The T-14 Armata is based on a modular combat platform, which can also serve as a basis for other armoured variants such as heavy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and armoured personnel carrier (APC). Soon after, official factors of the Russian Federation announced that the purchase of larger batches of the T-14 Armata tank was abandoned. It is worth adding that initially (2015) it was proposed to purchase about 2,300 of this vehicle, and two years later - only 100 tanks. In relation to them, it is a highly avant-garde design in several respects - among others, the entire crew of the vehicle is in its hull, and the turret armor has probably been reduced to a minimum in favor of active forms of defense using probably the Afghanit system or its derivatives. The T-14 Armata tank is a completely new design, which was intended to replace or complement the T-72, T-80 and T-90 vehicles in the line.
In 2017, the unit price of the T-14 Armata was estimated at around USD 7.4-7.5 million. The primary armament is the 125mm 2A82M-1M smoothbore gun, and the secondary armament consists of the 7.62mm PKMT machine gun and the 12.7mm Kord machine gun. The drive is probably provided by a single diesel engine with a power of up to 1500 HP. In the basic version, the combat weight of the tank reaches 48 tons. The first prototypes of this vehicle were probably created in 2011-2013, and the car entered small-series production in 2014. The T-14 Armata is a Russian main battle tank from modern times.
